Al Pastor $5.50
Marinated pork off the trompo, sweet grilled pineapple, onion & cilantro.
House favouriteKensington's loudest little cantina. Masa nixtamalized in-house daily, salsas made fresh, family recipes straight outta Guadalajara.
La Lucha started with a comal, a bag of dried corn, and a family recipe book carried across the border from Guadalajara. Every morning we nixtamalize our own corn — soaking and cooking it in cal, then grinding it fresh — so the masa in your taco was corn kernels just hours before.
Our salsas are pounded in the molcajete daily, our carnitas simmer low and slow, and our birria is a family secret we're not giving up. It's loud, it's bright, it's a little bit lucha libre — pull up a stool and throw a napkin over your shoulder.
Bigger plates for the table, sides to share, and something sweet to finish.
Three cheesy birria tacos griddled crisp, served with a cup of rich consommé for dunking.
House chips, melted cheese, black beans, pico, jalapeño, crema & guac.
Big flour tortilla, rice, beans, cheese & your choice of filling, wrapped tight.
Grilled street corn, crema, cotija, chili-lime dust. The one everyone photographs.
Smashed-to-order avocado, lime, cilantro, warm house tortilla chips.
Hot cinnamon-sugar churros with warm cajeta for dipping.
Shaken cold, salted rims, and aguas frescas made fresh every day.
Lots of green on this menu, and heat you control.
Hongos and Rajas tacos, Elote, and fresh Guacamole are all vegetarian — real dishes, not an afterthought.
Many dishes go vegan — just ask and we'll hold the cheese and crema. Our masa and tortillas are corn.
Mild to molcajete-melting. Every taco's heat is adjustable — tell us your level and we'll build it.
Walk-ins always welcome — squeeze in at the bar. Booking for a crew of six or more? Reserve and we'll save the big table.
